LONE STAR FOOTBALL LEAGUE SET TO BEGIN INAUGURAL SEASON FOR SPRING OF 2012
MIDLAND, TX. : The Lone Star Football League is proud to announce on Wednesday, October 5 that the West Texas Roughnecks Indoor Professional Football organization has been officially invited to become a charter member of the LSFL for the 2012 inaugural season. The Roughnecks organization will enter its ninth season overall in 2012 after spending the last three seasons as a member of the IFL.
The West Texas Roughnecks have established a long line of success by reaching the post-season in seven of the last eight seasons. The Roughnecks organization captured a championship in 2006 as a former member of the Intense Football League by defeating Corpus Christi, 97-56, in Intense Bowl II. From 2004 to 2006, the Roughnecks achieved a 27-game regular season winning streak, and posted an undefeated regular season record (14-0) as a former member of the NIFL in 2005. The West Texas Roughnecks currently hold all their home games at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa.
“This is a very exciting and long awaited time for indoor football in the state of Texas. The Roughnecks are proud to be a part of the Lone Star Football League which reunites our rivalries with teams such as Amarillo and Corpus Christi. We can’t wait to kickoff the 2012 season. People of Midland/Odessa, West Texas, and the Permian Basin get ready for some high-octane iron man football.” stated West Texas Roughnecks Team Owner & President Dale Morris.
